Gazprom Export sets up third gas auction

Gazprom Export said on Thursday it intends to carry out its third gas auction for supplying Russian gas to Europe during winter season 2016/2017, from August 31 to September 2. 

The company concluded the first auction in September 2015, signing deals with 15 clients with volumes totaling over 1.2 bcm.

Like the first auction gas will be offered at the delivery points Greifswald, Gaspool, and Olbernhau. In addition to these delivery points, buyers will have an opportunity to take volumes sold at the auction at Baumgarten and Arnoldstein, Gazprom Export said in its statement.

Gazprom’s second auction was held in March this year for the Baltic States with the gas to be delivered in the second, third and the fourth quarter of 2016 to the delivery point at Kotlovka gas metering station at the border of Belarus and Lithuania. The company signed deals for over 420 million cubic meters at the auction.
