Gazprom, Kyrgyzstan Discuss Cooperation

Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom’s Management Committee and Almazbek Atambayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic discussed the status of collaboration in the oil and gas sector, especially the prospects for joint activities in hydrocarbon exploration and production, wholesale and retail energy market development, as well as natural gas transmission and distribution in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Special attention was paid to Gazprom’s acquisition of a 100 per cent stake in Kyrgyzgaz. It was noted that Gazprom’s activities in the Republic across the whole production chain from hydrocarbon exploration to distribution as well as investments in the development of energy facilities would bring the Kyrgyz fuel and energy sector to a fundamentally new level.
