Gazprom, Sonatrach looking into LNG supply cooperation

Alexey Miller of Gazprom held a meeting with CEO of Algerian Sonatrach Said Sahnoun  in Moscow. 

They discussed options for cooperation in the gas sector and to progress the joint development on the Algerian territory, Gazprom said in a statement.

Gazprom has been engaged in significant 2D and 3D seismic studies in the El Assel license area since 2010, and confirmed the presence of productive hydrocarbon deposits. Gazprom as operator holds 51% stake in the development while Sonatrach holds 49%.

They also discussed possible cooperation in the new projects within the oil and gas sector, specifically for the cooperation in LNG supply, Gazprom added.
