Gazprom, Turkey talk gas cooperation
Gazprom’s Alexey Miller met with Recep Erdogan, President of Turkey and Taner Yildiz, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources on Saturday in Istanbul.
“The parties addressed a whole range of issues concerning bilateral cooperation in the gas sector,” Russian gas giant said in a statement.
According to Gazprom, Turkey is the company’s second largest sales market behind Germany. In 2013 Gazprom supplied Turkey with 26.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
The cooperation in the gas sector between the two countries commenced in 1984 when the USSR and the Republic of Turkey signed the agreement on natural gas supply.
