Gazprom Turns to European Underground Storage Facilities

Gazprom Turns to European Underground Storage Facilities

During the coming winter Gazprom Export will use the capacities of the European underground storages to compensate for each of the peak demands and not count on the use of Gas Transportation System of Ukraine.

Gazprom took the decision to increase gas injection into the European underground storage facilities during summer months of 2014.

The Service agreement on maintaining gas supplies, signed between Gazprom and Ukrtransgaz, was rarely applied. The volumes covered by this mechanism never exceeded basis points of transit volumes.

Most of the gas transit across the territory of Ukraine is effectuated and will be effectuated on the basis of the contract between Gazprom and Naftogaz Ukraine. The termination of the Service agreement by Gazprom Export in no way affects the security of supply through the territory of Ukraine.
