Gazprom, Ukraine Discuss Gas Injection into UGS Facilities

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Yury Boiko, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister took place as part of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2012.

The meeting discussed the progress with gas injection by NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy into underground gas storage (UGS) facilities of Ukraine. It was highlighted that Gazprom’s advance payment in the amount of USD 2 billion for gas transit provided Naftogaz Ukrainy with funds for the purchase of required gas volumes. Timely gas injection into Ukraine’s UGS facilities will enable the company to meet its obligations on sustained gas transit to Europe in the forthcoming winter period.

Alexey Miller and Yury Boiko also discussed other issues of the Russian-Ukrainian cooperation in the gas sector.
