Gazprom’s gas sales, profit up in H1

Russian gas giant Gazprom informed its net sales of gas rose by 2 percent to RUB 1,618,762 million in the first half, as compared to the same period in 2014.

Net sales of gas to Europe and other countries was up by 7  percent to RUB 946,620 million, driven by the increase in average Russian Ruble price, Gazprom said in a report on Monday.

Gas sales to Former Soviet Union countries decreased by 13 percent to RUB 229,638 million due to lower volumes sold, according to the report.

Gazprom’s profit for the six months ended June 30 totaled RUB 675,904 ,which is 50 percent higher compared to the prior year.
