GDF Suez of France Makes New Appointments

LNG player GDF Suez of France has announced several new appointments.

Henri Ducré (56) has been appointed Executive Vice President of GDF SUEZ in charge of Human Resources. He will also oversee the Information Systems Division and the Health, Safety and Management Systems Division. Given these different roles, Henri Ducré became a member of GDF SUEZ’s Management Committee on February 1.
Henri Ducré has, until now, been GDF SUEZ’s Executive Vice President in charge of Energy France within the Energy Europe Business Line, and a member of the Group’s Executive Committee.

Christelle Martin (52), who previously held this position, is joining the Energy Europe Business Line as a Project Director, reporting to Jean-François Cirelli. Since 2011, she has, in particular, been responsible for the merger of the Center’s human resources teams and has drawn up the Group’s HR goals.

Bruno Bensasson (40) has been appointed President and CEO of GDF SUEZ Energy France within the Energy Europe Business Line as from 11 February 2013, replacing Henri Ducré.

Bruno Bensasson was previously Senior Vice President in charge of Strategy and Sustainable Development, and a member of GDF SUEZ’s Executive Committee.
Bruno Bensasson held various positions at the French Ministry of Industry between 2002 and 2007, and worked for the President of the French Republic as a technical advisor responsible for the environment, industry, and transport. He was appointed Director of the Development and Strategy Division of SUEZ in 2007, and then Economics, Price and Market Director at GDF SUEZ’s Strategy and Sustainable Development Division in 2008.
Edouard Sauvage (48) has been appointed Senior Vice President in charge of Strategy as from 11 February 2013. As such, he has been appointed as a member of GDF SUEZ’s Executive Committee.

Edouard Sauvage has since 2004 been the Director of Gas Supplies at Gaz de France, then at GDF SUEZ, first within the Global Gas & LNG Business Line, and then, since 2012, within the Energy Europe Business Line. He worked at the French Delegation for National Development and Regional Action (DATAR) between 1993 and 1995, and then as a Technical Advisor to the Prime Minister in 1995. He joined EDF GDF Services in 1997, where he held various positions. In 2002, he was appointed as the Representative for Strategy and Europe at Gaz de France’s Strategy Division, and then, in 2003, as Deputy Director of the International Division.

Willem Van Twembeke (47) has been appointed CEO of International Power (Energy International Business Line) and will become a member of GDF SUEZ’s Executive Committee on April 1, 2013. He will then replace Philip Cox, who is retiring. Philip Cox has been International Power’s CEO since December 2003. He led the company’s growth for 10 years and successfully implemented the merger with GDF SUEZ’s international activities.

Willem Van Twembeke has spent his entire career with the Group. Since 1991, he has worked in the engineering sector, in project management of power plant construction and managed the Group’s subsidiaries in Peru and in Chile. He has also been responsible for trading and portfolio management in Belgium. Since 2011, he has been the Asia Regional Manager within the Energy International Business Line.
