Germany: GL RC Attests CE Conformity of UPDRAFT Winch

GL Renewables Certification (GL RC) has assessed UPDRAFT’s “UPDRAFT winch 800-20-A” according to DIN EN 14492-2:2006. Additionally, GL RC evaluated the CE marking process, the technical design and the manuals for this product according to the EC machinery directive.

CE marking is an essential part of bringing products to the European market. In Europe, it is mandatory for many types of products, including machinery and electrical products.

The UPDRAFT winch has been developed in cooperation with UPDRAFT’s parent company Geo Gleistein & Sohn, PPTechniq and the consultancy company GlobeKon. The winch operates with a chemical fibre rope and is designed for operation up to 30m/min (empty) in offshore wind turbines with hub heights up to 120m.
