Germany: MAFI Launches New LNG Powered Tractors

MAFI Launches New LNG Powered Tractors

As reported by Port Strategy, MAFI Transport-Systeme GmbH, a worldwide leader on the market of production of tractors for in-plant transportation in seaports, industry, logistics and distribution centres, launched a new generation of terminal tractors.

The novelty introduced in the new generation is that these vehicles are generated by LNG gas. This will pave the way for dropping the level of pollution caused by CO2 emission and at the same time improve container handling.

“MAFI invested in the design of this new tractor to meet customer’s requirements to make container handling even more efficient, in other words, to be able to handle even heavier loads as more and more ports operate with twin/tandem spreaders. Beside this, MAFI Eco Mode – an intelligent drive programme, makes the operation environment-friendly and reduces costs of ownership considerably,” MAFI’s Promotion Manager Luzia Schmitt pointed out.

MAFI aims at providing its customers with the state of the art technology by creating products that are tailored to the customers’ needs and the new generation of tractors confirms that. Namely, by upgrading the level of forcefulness, improved sight all around and enhanced driver’s comfort, the tractors already found a number of customers awaiting their delivery, such as those from Djibouti, France and the Netherlands.
