Governor Walker meets with KOGAS officials

Alaska’s Governor Bill Walker continued his LNG talks in Japan by holding meetings with the presidents and chief executives several companies.  

Walker met officials of Korea Gas Corporation, the world’s largest buyer of liquefied natural gas, Mitsubishi Corporation’s natural gas division, GS Energy, which is currently building an LNG terminal in Korea and Toho Gas, stands in the statement.

Governor Walker also met with Japan’s State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Daishiro Yamagiwa.

Walker also delivered a speech at an LNG conference presenting Alaska as an opportunity for liquefied natural gas.

Alaska has 33 trillion cubic feet of proven natural gas reserves, and potentially 250 trillion cubic feet more, Governor Walker said.

Governor Walker and his team will also meet with executives of Japan Bank for International Cooperation, Sumitomo Metal Mining, ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips.
