Guernsey Renewable Energy Team Updates REA to Include Wind (UK)
The Guernsey Renewable Energy Team has today released updated chapters of it Regional Environmental Assessment (REA) to take into account the possibility of offshore wind development. This has lead to a number of Chapters being re-worked, while others remain unaffected.
The new chapters can be found here – with updates having been made to the Birds, Fisheries, Shipping and Landscape chapters. There is also a new Chapter 5, focusing on the wind resource.
It is intended that the update forms an annex to the original REA, rather than being a standalone document. While there is not an official consultation at this time, RET accepts comments and will make any changes to the document as are necessary.
