Hercules Offshore to Manage Perisai's New Drilling Rigs

Malaysia’s Perisai has appointed Hercules Offshore, Inc. as the drilling operations and maintenance manager of the Perisai Pacific 101 and Perisai Pacific 102, Perisai’s newbuild Pacific Class 400 jack-up drilling Rigs.

The Perisai Pacific 101 is scheduled for completion and delivery in July 2014 and the Perisai Pacific 102 about a year after.

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Hercules Offshore operates a fleet of 40 jackup rigs, including two Keppel FELS Super A high-specification, harsh-environment jackup rigs, and 24 liftboats. The company offers a range of services to oil and gas producers to meet their needs during drilling, well service, platform inspection, maintenance, and decommissioning operations in several key shallow water provinces around the world.

In a separate filing, Perisai said it had terminated the drilling operations and maintenance management deal it had had with KCA DEUTAG:

“We refer to our announcement of 16 November 2012 in relation to the appointment of KCA DEUTAG (“KCAD”) as the drilling operations and maintenance contractor of Perisai’s Pacific Class 400 Jack-Up Drilling Rig, the Perisai Pacific 101 through a Master Services Agreement.

Perisai wishes to announce that it has mutually agreed with KCAD to terminate the Master Services Agreement effective 5 November 2013. The mutually agreed termination follows changing conditions and evolving circumstances affecting both parties. As such, the termination ceases both parties’ obligations and is without any liability subsisting on either party.”
