HHI Hands Over Drillship Bolette Dolphin

Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI) has today delivered the ultra-deepwater drillship Bolette Dolphin to Bolette Dolphin Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Fred. Olsen Energy ASA.

Bolette Dolphin, belonging to the 6th generation of Gusto P10000 design, was specially developed to operate in water depths from 10,000 ft up to 12,000 ft and drilling activities to a total depth of 40,000 ft under the drill floor.

According to GustoMSC P10,000 drillship – Product Sheet, one of the ship’s main features is the very large free deck area on both forward side and aft side of the drill floor. The ship’s DP system is DP3 compliant with station keeping ability and has sufficient power to operate in typical Gulf of Mexico, Brazil or West Africa conditions.

The drillship will shortly mobilize to West Africa to commence drilling operations for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.
