Seafox 7 lands for Tullow

The newly built jackup service platform, Seafox 7, has arrived on location in the UK Southern North Sea (SNS) to start its first job.

The platfrom has been chartered by Tullow Oil to support its planned activities at the Horne and Wren Platform as part of the Wissey Field Development.

David Wright, Tullow Oil’s project manager for the Wissey Field Development, said: “The unit is supporting brownfield modifications on a NUI located in over 41m water depth. It provides excellent accommodation, helicopter landing facilities and the necessary deckspace and lifting capacity required to complete our program of work in a safe and efficient manner.”

The self-elevating accommodation, maintenance and workover unit Seafox 7 was built under ABS classifications in 2008. Designed by MSC and built at Labroy Shipyard, it is the first new-built jackup rig to enter the SNS area and has standard accommodation for 82 people, a helideck and a crane with
