Sleipner A contract for Bergen

Oil services support company Bergen Group has been awarded an EPCIC contract by StatoilHydro for process modifications on the Sleipner A Platform.
The contract is worth 170 million crowns (US $29.4 million).

Bergen says the contract will start immediately and completion offshore is planned to take place in January 2010.

The modifications on the Sleipner A process plant relates to reduced pressure in the reservoir. The project involves all phases from detail design through to offshore completion.

Bergen says the main modifications to be performed under the contract are a revamp of the inlet separator lower pressure liquid-vapour separation.

Bergen Chief Executive Roger Simmenes said the contract demonstrated the willingness of StatoilHydro to support the development of competitors for the major EPCIC projects whtch will be executed in the coming years.
