Oosterhout terminal on its way to 200,000 moves

With the extension of the quay and the installation of a second gantry crane, the Oosterhout Container Terminal (OCT) will be able to more or less double its throughput to 200,000 moves (= roughly 320,000 TEU). They began in 2001 with 10,000 TEU. The owners think that they will be able to re-double operations in six to seven years, despite the current crisis. Last year, the shrinkage was about 2%; in 2009 they are conceding 10-15% so far.
