Luke proves lucky for Denmark

Denmark’s North Sea sector has revealed a new gas and condensate discovery after drilling on the Luke1X well. The Danish Energy Authority said the Luke 1X well drilled as a vertical well in the 8/06 licence area hit hydrocarbons in a Byrne formation in a Middle Jurassic reservoir zone after the well was drilled to a total depth of 4,572 m (15,000 ft) in a water depth of 40 m (161 ft) with the Maersk Resolve rig.
