Zeeland Seaports ready for growth due to new Port Management System by HITT

Last week the new Port Management Information System and Port Community System of Zeeland Seaport, PortXcs, became operational. The system which was supplied by HITT Traffic (and sister company Klein Systems Group), supports the full administrative process and planning of ships and cargo in the port of Zeeland Seaports. The system also facilitates the messaging between Zeeland Seaports, shipping agents, traffic management systems and shortly also pilots, service providers and Customs.

PortXcs will allow the handling of ships and cargo information and the exchange of data between the various parties in- and outside the port to run more efficiently which will save time and money. The system meets the stipulations of the ISPS (International Ship and Port facility Security) code.

“We are proud of the results we have reached so far with the execution of this project. This week is an important step towards the improvement of the administrative processes of Zeeland Seaport.” Says Gaston Suy, project manager PortXcs of Zeeland Seaports. “This process will continue in the coming period”.

Zeeland Seaports, the second largest seaport in the Netherlands, expects a substantial growth in trans-shipments and receipt of ships in the coming years. With PortXcs the port community is ready for this growth. In the Netherlands, besides Zeeland Seaports, also the port of Amsterdam is equipped with a Port Management Information Systems provided by HITT Traffic and KSG.
