Port workers stage protest march

Workers from the Humber ports have staged a protest march over plans to change their shift patterns. More than 100 staff from the ports of Goole, Grimsby, Hull and Immingham took part in Saturday’s event in Grimsby organised by the Unite union. Unite accused Associated British Ports (ABP) of using the recession as an excuse to “erode” terms and conditions. ABP said changes to working patterns had been “necessitated by a significant downturn in trade through its ports”.
