Malaysia to buy 2 frigates from BAE, 8 aircraft from Italy’s Aermacchi

Malaysia plans to buy two frigates from the UK’s BAE Systems and eight training aircraft from Italy’s Finmeccanica SpA unit Aermacchi to boost its defence systems, the Star newspaper said. ‘The two new vessels will be the most advanced warships to be constructed in Malaysia,’ Najib was quoted as saying in the report from Britain, where he started a week-long visit on Sunday.
