EC probe threat kills DFDS deal

DSV has abandoned plans to take control of DFDS, after the EC blocked the deal with the threat of a phase two competition probe. The Danish logistics firm had agreed to take a 45% stake in a new company, Vesterhavet-DSV Holding, which would have held a 56% share of the ferry operator. However, the EC opened a phase two investigation into the deal after fears were raised it could damage the market.
