Prime Minister India changes LNG shipping policy

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has ordered a change in the LNG shipping policy to allow the liquefied natural gas purchaser the choice of carrier.
Currently, the Shipping ministry restricts LNG import only on an Indian flag vessel – Indian company holding a minimum of 26 per cent ownership of the carrier.
