Icahn has 8.2 pct stake in LNG player Cheniere

Billionaire investor Carl Icahn reported an 8.18 percent activist stake in Houston-based LNG player Cheniere Energy.

Icahn, who owns 19.4 million shares in Cheniere, said he plans to discuss with Cheniere’s management about the company’s operations, capital expenditures, financing and executive compensation, according to a regulatory filing.

He would also seek shareholder board representation if needed, the filling said.

Cheniere is currently building two LNG export plants, namely the Sabine Pass in Cameron Parish, Louisiana and the Corpus Christi in San Patricio County, Texas,
