Today’s image shows CMA CGM Kerguelen during her first call at the Malaysian Port Klang terminal.

The terminal set up a unique arrangement for the vessel where no less than 12 cranes were simultaneously used to match the vessel’s exceptional length and capacity, setting a new record for one of the CMA CGM Group’s vessels.

With a length of 1,305 ft. (398m) and a width of 177 ft. (54m), the CMA CGM KERGUELEN is CMA CGM Group’s largest containership.

This gigantic vessel, which was delivered to CMA CGM Group on 31st of March, 2015, has a 17,722 TEU (twenty feet equivalent) capacity: all containers aligned would cover the distance between London and Southampton.

She is longer than the Empire State Building, wider than an olympic pool, and her thrust is equivalent to the one of 10 A380 Airbus reactors.
