ABG Shipyard to Set up New Yard in Gujarat

ABG Shipyard, one of India’s largest private shipbuilders, is planning to build a new facility along the Gujarat coastline with an estimated value of Rs 5,000 crore. This will be ABG Shipayard’s third facility at Gujarat and is likely to generate employment for about 4,500 people.

As Exim news site reports, ABG Shipyard is going to expand its facilities at Dahej and Magdalla in three phases, at an estimated investment of Rs 2,000 crore.

The company said that it has submitted its proposal to the State Government during the ongoing Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2013.

ABG Shipyard Ltd., the flagship company of ABG group was incorporated in the year 1985 as Magdalla Shipyard Pvt. Ltd. with the main objects of carrying Shipbuilding and Ship Repair business. In a span of 22 years from the year 1991, the company has achieved the status of the largest private sector shipbuilding yard in India with satisfied customer base all around the world.
