India: Reliance-BP JV to Source LNG from Freeport Terminal

Reliance-BP JV to Source LNG from Freeport Terminal

Indian Gas Solutions, the joint venture of BP and Reliance Industries, will source LNG from the Freeport terminal in US to India, The Economic Times reported.

BP has recently signed an agreement with US Freeport LNG for 4.4 mtpa of liquefaction tolling capacity, which will provide BP with Henry Hub-linked LNG supply. BP will be looking to actively market some of this supply in India through India Gas Solutions.

This new arrangement further strengthens BP’s LNG supply portfolio and will allow us even more flexibility in working with our key customers and stakeholders,” BP India said in a statement.

Freeport LNG Expansion entered in February into a binding 20-year Liquefaction Tolling Agreement (LTA) with BP for 4.4 mtpa, equivalent to the production capacity of the second train of Freeport LNG’s proposed natural gas liquefaction and LNG loading facility on Quintana Island near Freeport, Texas.
