IP Pipeline Guarantees Peace in Region, Says Iranian President

Transfer of Iran’s gas to Pakistan guaranties peace and security in the region, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said.

Addressing commencement ceremony of IP gas pipeline executive operation, Ahamdinejad said: “I believe if the countries of the region to strengthen their cooperation, they will no longer need others.”

According to the report of the public relations of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), the president said that Iran and Pakistan should complete each other. Iran is able to meet a great part of its energy needs and at the same time, Pakistan can provide Iran’s needs to other commodities.

He continued: “Construction of peace pipeline is a sign of fraternity between Iran and Pakistan and previous experiences show that the issues in the region could be solved just through sympathy and cooperation.

“This gas pipeline is the starting point of new long way for deepening relations between the two countries”, Ahmadinejad concluded.
