IP Pipeline Vital to Meet Energy Needs of Islamabad, Says Pakistani Minister

Pakistani Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources‚ Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said the government would complete Iran-Pakistan gas project to meet growing energy needs of the country.

He stated that the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline is vital to meet burgeoning energy needs of Islamabad, especially as domestic gas production has remained stagnant and other energy import projects have hit a stalemate, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

The 1930 km long pipeline will bring 750 million cubic feet per day of gas to Pakistan.
