Iran and Azerbaijan to expand energy ties

Iran and Azerbaijan are planning to expand their cooperation in oil and gas sectors under new international conditions, Iran’s deputy oil minister for international affairs and trade said.

Amir Hossein Zamaninia made the remarks following a meeting between Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev in Tehran on Tuesday, NIGC said in a statement.

The two sides discussed boosting of industrial cooperation for construction of oil equipment, swap of oil and export of natural gas, said Zamaninia.

They also indicated interest in boosting oil and gas cooperation in the Caspian Sea, the statement added.
