Iran could up gas delivery to Iraq with IGAT-6

Construction of Iran Gas Trunkline-6 would give a boost to Iran’s capacity in gas exports to Iraq, managing director of Iran Gas Engineering and Development Company, Alireza Gharibi said.

He added in a statement that construction of the second section of the pipeline would be also of help in sustained gas delivery to western and northwestern Iran.

Gharibi said the project is estimated to cost $2.2 billion, adding that IGAT-6 is among the top priorities of the company in the current calendar year to March 2016.

IGAT-6 starts from South Pars gas field reaching Dehgolan after crossing Khozestan, Lorestan, Ilam and Kermanshah provinces.
