Iran Expects to Double Daily Gas Output in Coming Years

Iran’s current daily gas output is 600 million cubic meters, which will be doubled to 1.2 billion cubic meters in the coming years, managing director of the National Iranian gas Company (NIGC), Mr. Javad Owji announced .

According to the report of the public relations of the NIGC, he said that considering the $38 billion investment in Iran’s gas industry, gas production of the country will be doubled by the end of the country’s Fifth Five-Year Development Plan.

He went on to say that, despite the various sanctions imposed by the western states against Iran, the country’s oil and gas production has undergone a huge increase in recent years.

He stated that despite the harsh sanction imposed on the Iranian oil sector, Iran is now self-sufficient in the oil industry and capable of domestically manufacturing any equipment needed by the oil industry.
