Iran: Gas Exports to Turkey Hit 47 Bcm

Iran has exported 47 billion cubic meter of natural gas to Turkey since the beginning of Iranian gas export to this country, director of gas transmission operation (district 8), Yadollah Baibverdi said on Monday.

Referring to Iran’s gas exports to Armenia and Nakhchivan he said that since the initial step Iran has exported 805  million and 1.18 billion cubic meters of natural gas to these two countries respectively, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

He went on to say that, Iran has totally exported 49.16 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan from the beginning.

It’s worth mentioning that, the amount of gas swapped during the period was 1.47 billion cubic meters which was transferred from Azerbaijan to its republic of Nakhchivan.

The gas contract was signed 1996 between the two countries over annual export of 10 billion cubic meters for 25 years.
