Iran: ICOFC Ready to Meet Country’s Winter Gas Needs

Managing director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), Mehdi Fakour said the company has secured production of 325 million cubic meters of gas per day during the winter.

The company was ready to meet gas needs of the country in coming winter; Iran’s SHANA news agency reported quoting Mehdi Fakour as saying.

He went on to say that, the committee in charge of meeting fuel needs over the winter held a meeting in the presence of the acting minister of petroleum and examined production plans of NIGC, NIORDC and ICOFC on supplying fuel in coming winter.

He said that the first production increases will come from Sefid Zakhor and Dey gas fields with 13 million cubic meters per day.

According to Fakour, ICOFC aims to produce 340 million cubic meters of gas as of February 2013 expressing hope the company to achieve the target.

Elsewhere in his remarks he said that based on the company plans gas production from Sefid Baghoun and Halegan would start during the first half of the year 2014 with 19 million cubic meters of gas per day in the first phase increasing to 35 million cubic meters in the second phase and to 50 million cubic meters in the final phase
