Iran: Ilam Refinery to Supply Gas to Iraq

Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Hamidreza Araqi says Ilam Gas Refinery in western Iran will be among the suppliers of natural gas to neighboring Iraq, noting that the facility produces two billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas annually.

He said the refinery is processing seven million cubic meters a day of gas, adding that Ilam Refinery is a good source of gas supply to Ilam province and the neighboring provinces, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

“In the first phase of Ilam Gas Refinery, partial gas exports to Iraq would be supplied from this refinery,” Araqi said during a visit to the refinery in western Iran.
