Iran looking for investors in mini-LNG plants

Hamid Reza Araqi, managing director of National Iranian Gas Company, said that Iran is preparing to invite potential investors in mini-LNG plants very soon.

He was quoted by Shana saying, “After the launch of the invitation, investment companies can announce their readiness for contribution to the construction of mini-LNG plants.”

According to Araqi, the plants should be constructed in low temperature experiencing border regions with storage capacities of 90 mcm of natural gas.

A $100 million investment would secure Iranian’s gas supply network, and mini-LNG plants would supply gas to villages, which is more economical than piping gas.
