Minister Zanganeh Concentrates on Completion of South Pars Phases

Iranian minister of petroleum Bijan Zanganeh announced that Petroleum Ministry had concentrated its efforts on completion of phases 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18 in the South Pars gas field which are able to yield 200 million cubic meters of gas and 300 thousand barrels of gas condensate per day.

During his visit to South Pars projects, Zanganeh stated that phases 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18 were the top priorities of development in South Pars gas field while the oil layer of the gas field comes after, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

“I will spent 60 percent on my time on development and completion of South Pars projects which will realize through cooperation and hard efforts of all those who are involved in the field,” he added.

Zanganeh expressed satisfaction with the process of phase 12 development that he said should come online in the coming winter.

At the head of delegation comprising NIOC’s managers, Zanganeh visited South Pars projects to become familiar with the latest developments in the gas field.

As the largest gas field in the world, South Pars gas field is located in the Persian Gulf, shared by Iran and Qatar.
