Iran, Senegal to Broaden Energy Cooperation

Iran and Senegal will broaden energy cooperation in near future, Iran’s Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said.

“Iran’s public and private sectors were ready to boost long-term cooperation in oil, gas and petrochemical production and refining with Senegal,” Zanganeh added in a meeting with visiting Senegalese Foreign Minister Mankeur Ndiaye in Tehran.

During the meeting, Zanganeh referred to the history of friendly relations between the two countries expressing hope energy ties to rise in near future, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.

“Iran can be a good supplier of oil products to Senegal and the neighboring countries,” he said.

For his part, Ndiaye said his country is interested in benefiting from Iran’s assistance in construction of refineries, natural gas storage and sulfur supply to its chemical plants.
