Iran to Pump Gas to Shourijeh UGS Facility

Iran will soon pump natural gas to its second underground gas storage facility northeast of the country, managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hamidreza Araqi said.

“Upon completion of its second phase, the facility will be able to take 20 million cubic meters of gas per day,” Araqi added.

The Shourijeh gas storage facility, located at the northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi, can store 4.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

“Once the facility comes on stream Iran will become one of five main countries in the world in terms of gas storage facilities,” Araqi said.
