Iran urges Pakistan to meet gas pipeline commitments

Iran’s minister of economy has called on Pakistan to fulfill its obligations with regard to a pipeline that would carry natural gas from Iran to its eastern energy-thirsty neighbor.

In a meeting with Pakistani Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahed Khaqan Abbasi, Ali Tayyebnia said Iran has already honored all its commitments with regard to Iran-Pakistan (IP) pipeline project.

He said he expects the Pakistani government to accelerate construction of its own section of the pipeline. For his part, the Pakistani minister said his country remains committed to the terms of the contract.
