Japan April LNG Imports Climb YoY

Japan, the world’s biggest buyer of liquefied natural gas, imported 7.05 million tonnes of LNG in April, up 2.1 percent from a year earlier, the country’s Ministry of Finance said.

Japan’s LNG imports reached 86.865 million tonnes in the fiscal year that ended in March, up 4.4 percent compared to the same period before.

The ten regional electric power companies in Japan consumed 4.37 million tonnes of LNG in April, down 4.2 percent compared with the same month a year earlier.
