Japan: Tohoku Secures Additional LNG
Japan’s Tohoku Electric has secured 2.2 million tonnes of additional LNG for for the current financial year ending on March 31, Reuters reported.
The company was forced to increase its LNG-fired power generation after a complete nuclear outage in the wake of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
Tohoku Electric, headquartered in Sendai, provides service to 7 million customers across seven prefectures, occupying the northern portion of Japan’s main island.
