In its monthly report, the ministry shows the contract-based price reached $8.3 per mmBtu, 9.8 percent below the $9.2 per mmBtu price in December 2018, and 24.6 percent below the $11 per mmBtu recorded in January 2019.

The arrival-based price also decreased month on month, edging down only 1 percent from $10.6 per mmBtu in December 2018 to $10.5 per mmBtu in the month under review.

Compared to the corresponding month in 2018, however, the arrival-based price rose 4 percent from $10.1 per mmBtu.

Only spot LNG cargoes are taken into account in this assessment, excluding short, medium and long-term contract cargoes, as well as those linked to a particular price index.
