Data from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) shows the contract-based price reached $7.5 per mmBtu, 8.5 percent below the $8.2 per mmBtu reported in January.

The arrival-based price declined 21 percent from $10.5 per mmBtu in January to $8.3 per mmBtu during the month under review.

Compared to the corresponding month in 2018, however, both the contract-based and the arrival-based prices dropped 29.2 and 23.8 percent, respectively.

Only spot LNG cargoes are taken into account in this assessment, excluding short, medium and long-term contract cargoes, as well as those linked to a particular price index.
