Kherson Shipyard Starts Sea Trials of SVL LOYALTY

The second tanker of RST27 Project SVL LOYALTY, built by Kherson Shipyard (KSY), has been put to sea for trials. The vessel is intended for river-sea transportation of crude oil and oil products, including petrol without limitation as to flashpoint, with provision of simultaneous transportation of two cargo grades.

RST27 Project is developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB). Overall length of the vessel is 140,85 m, breadth – 16,86 m, depth – 6 m. Capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop tanks is 8100 cum, deadweight at sea – 6980 tons at draft of 4,20 m, in river at draft of 3,60 m – 5378 tons, service speed – 10 knots.

The contract for construction of the three complete river-sea tankers was signed in 2011 between KSY and Maltese company SVL. The first ship of the RST27 project series, SVL LIBERTY, was delivered to the Customer on 22nd of March. The complete execution of the contract is expected in 2013.

At present 2 ships are under construction, 3 – under modernization and 16 ships under repair at Kherson Shipyard.
