Kogas Jan domestic sales down

South Korea’s Kogas, the world’s second-largest corporate buyer of LNG, saw a drop in its gas sales of 2.8 percent in January when compared to the same month a year ago.

Kogas said in a filing to the stock exchange it sold 4.05 million mt of LNG equivalent in January, as compared to 4.17 million mt in the same month in 2016.

Sales in the power generation sector declined 3 percent to 1.48 million mt while city gas sales reached 2.58 million mt, down 2.7 percent when compared to January 2016.

In December, Kogas reported a 9.6 percent rise in sales to 3.83 million mt of LNG.
