Laurin Maritime, Anglo-Atlantic Team Up with Operator Marflet Services, Spain

Marflet Services, Anglo-Atlantic Steamship Company Limited and Laurin Maritime are pleased to announce an agreement whereby Anglo-Atlantic Steamship Company Ltd will time charter Marflet’s five modern IMO II-type vessels for two years. Laurin Maritime has been appointed to manage the vessels commercially.

Through this co-operation, Laurin Maritime will increase the size of its fleet to 18 MR vessels, thereby forming one of the largest fleets of fully IMO II capable MR ships in the market. The fleet will be further expanded in 2012 through the addition of two new-buildings. By working together, the companies will have a sizeable presence in the market for larger chemical parcels. Marflet Services, Anglo-Atlantic and Laurin Maritime have similar company values regarding quality, safety and the environment. The two companies focus on long-term relationships, and they plan to manage their vessels under a marketing and revenue sharing agreement after the two years of charter.

Laurin Maritime is an established operator of modern tankers trading mainly from the US Gulf to the eastern seaboards of North and South America and transatlantic to Europe. Laurin Maritime’s current sailing fleet consists of 13 modern 46,000 dwt IMO II chemical class tankers which can switch between clean petroleum products and large parcels of chemicals to provide maximum flexibility of operation.

Anglo-Atlantic Steamship Company Limited is an owner and charterer of modern tanker vessels. The company currently owns a majority share in 12 vessels plus two new buildings, and has one vessel on time charter.
