Loading of First South Pars Phase 12 Platform Commences

Loading operations of the first platform of South Pars gas field phase 12 started in Khoramshahr city south of Iran.

Managing director of Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC), Ali Taheri told Shana the platform with 3.26 thousand tons of weight and 4.410 square meters area will be installed in about next 30 days in South Pars gas field phase 12 in Persian Gulf waters.

IOEC’s managing director further said accessories of the platform include a tripod jacket, two bridges, a middle deck, and a flare and its platform each weighing respectively 1700, 369, 106 and 185 tons.

Taheri pointed out that development of SP’s phase 12 requires three main platform and one satellite platform adding IOEC is in charge of construction and installation of the main platforms.

South Pars phase 12 platform will be loaded to a barge in next two weeks and will be transferred to related site for installation, according to the official.

Construction of second and third platforms of the phase 12 is under way in Khoramshahr Yard and they will be ready for transferring and installation in related location in phase 12 at a short distance after installation of first one.

A number of Petropars and Pars Oil and Gas Company managers attended loading ceremony of the platform.

South Pars gas field phase 12 will yield about one billion cubic meters of gas per day, which is equal to gas production from three normal phases of South Pars gas field. Two third of the produced gas is going to be converted to LNG and the remaining one third will be injected to national gas grid.
