Lundin Gets Consent to Use Transocean Arctic Rig in PL 501 (Norway)

Swedish oil and gas exploration an production company, Lundin Petroleum  has received consent from PSA Norway to carry out exploration drilling with the Transocean Arctic semi-submersible drilling rig.

The consent relates to drilling and production testing of appraisal well 16/2-13 which belongs to production licence 501 in Norwegina part of the North Sea.

The drilling will start in June/July 2012. The operation is estimated to last for 43 days, depending on whether a discovery is made.

Production licence 501 was awarded on 23 January 2009 (APA 2008).
