Maersk Line Beefs Up Eastern India Business

Danish container shipping giant Maersk Line is expanding its Far East and South East India network of operations by adding two new services, the Chennai Express (CHX) and the Chennai Express 2 (CHX2).

As announced, one service will be launched within a Vessel Sharing Agreement (VSA) on the Chennai Express (CHX) and Slot Charter Agreement on the Chennai Express 2 (CHX2).

The services are to start operation from January 2016.

“The enhanced network will have a unique Northern China direct call, headhaul new direct port calls including Singapore, Hong Kong, Yantian and Port Klang, and backhaul new direct port calls including Busan, Singapore and Port Klang,” the company said in an announcement.
